Woodworking Scotland

The Scottish Woodworking Machinery exhibition held in March 2009 proved to be an interesting show despite all the doom and gloom and negativity surrounding the economy with the building industry in particular being quite badly affected.

However, the turn out to the Scottish exhibition proved that there were still companies who were busy and refreshingly looking forward to what their future requirements may entail resulting in a surprisingly vibrant feel to the show.

Our particular stand which was a generous 60 sqm seemed quite busy throughout the 3 days and gave us the opportunity to meet and greet both existing and potential new clients.

On display we had a good selection of classical machinery which included the Genisis X3 sliding table panel saw with motorised movements not only to both the main blade and the scorer but also to the 1500mm ripfence. Also on display which generated alot of interest was the newly launched Genisis XC compact panel saw which shares many features of the larger machines but is especially suited to those who have limited floorspace and are not able to accommodate the larger machines, yet still require a highly accurate and robust machine. Complimenting the Genisis range were the SP430 and SP530 thicknessing machines along with the Genisis PF410 surface planer.

Complimenting the machines on display were machines from Sedgwick which included the TES/h 3 head tenoner, SM4 spindle moulder, 571 Mortiser, TA 315 sawbench and MB 12\" x 9\" combined planer thicknesser and also a 4 head planer/moulder with 9\" x 5\" working capacity from mpower.
